Hi I'm Ian, founder of GuideMyND.
We are a family of four - myself, my wife, and our two boys, aged 8 and 4. Our eldest was diagnosed with Autism at the age of four, and our youngest is currently going through his assessment journey. Like many parents, we stepped into parenthood with love, hope and excitement - but we didn’t expect the pathway we found ourselves on.
What challenged us most wasn’t parenting itself - it was trying to navigate the system of assessments, support services, education, and resources. Finding the right help can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. And we quickly learned we weren’t the only family feeling this way.
Our Story
As we began to speak with other families - friends, colleagues, parents at school - we heard the same shared experiences:
- “I don’t know what to do next.”
- “I feel like I’m constantly chasing information.”
- “I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing for my child.”
Every child has their own unique needs. Every family is trying their best. Yet the clarity and guidance we all need often feels out of reach.
It also became clear that access to support can depend on who you happen to meet, the school your child attends, or whether someone shares a piece of advice at the right moment. That shouldn’t be the deciding factor in whether a child receives the help they deserve.
That realisation is where GuideMyND began.
What GuidMyND is
GuideMyND - short for Guide My Neurodiversity - is a platform designed to give parents and carers a single, organised place to manage their child’s journey.
With GuideMyND, families can:
- Record information, behaviours, and observations
- Store documents securely, without relying on piles of paper or scattered files
- Track milestones and patterns over time
- Access supportive tools and helpful resources
- Understand possible pathways and next steps
Because when parents feel more informed and supported, children benefit.
